Update from Church Leadership

My dear church family, oh how I miss seeing each of your warm, smiling faces. I miss our laughter, our connection and just being WITH you. We are certainly doing our best to remain connected during this very odd time. Some of the ways we are doing that is through more frequent Facebook posts, storytime with pastor Melissa for kids, a youth devotional from Tricia on the Facebook group, and of course, our daily prayer time. I hope you will consider joining us some morning at 10:30 am as we gather to pray for each other. (Dial 346-248-7799 and then enter 781569606# when asked for a code, then another # when asked for final code)

I know my heart has had times of worrying and anxiety so I totally understand what most of you might be feeling. I, too, know the stress of trying to balance being a working mom and keeping my kids on task with new online learning. I am even married to a teacher who is trying to learn these new tactics along with his kids. It can be overwhelming if we let it. I invite you to pause and take a deep breath. Breathe peace, my friends. I promise that this storm won’t last forever.

Try to remember the things that you are thankful for. Don’t let the news overcome you with worry and strife; we have much to be thankful for. In this crazy time, I am so very thankful for each of you! Again, I remind you, none of us knows what tomorrow holds, but we ALL know WHO holds tomorrow!

God bless, much love and many virtual hugs,

Pastor Melissa

Dear Button family

This has been a very challenging couple of weeks in our world. Let us hold onto our God and His promises to never leave us or forsake us. He is still in control. In an attitude of peace and love, I must make you aware of the financial challenge facing our church currently. We as the Button family have made commitments to support this church with our time, talents, and treasure. Please use one of the various methods to continue to financially support our church during this time of on-line worshipping. Last week’s donations were $75.00 total. Please help Button be a lighthouse of Jesus’s love and peace for the Little Elm community during these unusual times and beyond.

Your brother in Christ Jesus,

Pete Corwin

Lay Leader Button United Methodist Church

Dear Fellow Button Parishioner,

This is John Couzelis and I pray all is well with you and your family. These are times when our faith can be challenged. I pray that you and your loved ones do not catch this horrible virus!

While the spiritual health of our church is stronger than ever, the fiscal health of Button remains higher than ever on my prayer list.

Carol and I joined Button almost 12 years ago because it spoke to us as a community of believers who, not only believed in the Lord, but also in the goodness and caring for one another. We know that in times of need, we could support and depend on our church family.

This is a time when our church family needs to come together and support one another. There are opportunities for us to help struggling Button families that are in need. Thanks to your loving care, tangible needs are being met through food deliveries to our shut-ins and our Button Pantry. Thank you for your generous support.

In addition, I want to thank those of you who are continuing to financially support giving to our God through Button. By providing your continuous financial support, either through our Pay-Pal account or by sending in (or dropping off) a check, it is a way of saying you are committed to helping our Family of Believers through this period of “social distancing” from one another.

I pray that you will continue to give on a regular basis during this period of uncertainty.

Please remember the recent message by Pastor M: “Give up your worries to Our Lord because He has your back in all circumstances that come before us”. Always remember:

In His Service,

John Couzelis
